SNFs will undoubtedly face a great deal of scrutiny and second-guessing both during and after the COVID-19 crisis passes. You will likely face survey citations, workforce claims, lawsuits and public condemnations. While every organization’s priority must be on delivering appropriate patient care, and in some sense, everything you do to is “risk management,” we do believe that SNFs should also allocate resources now to planning for the inevitable future where you will need to defend yourselves.
